Charge the battery before each use of the Bicycle.
An easy way to do this is to charge it at the end of each ride. This will extend the life of the battery and help reduce the chance of over-discharging it. Charging the battery after short rides does not reduce its life.
When one bar is left on the display, users should charge the battery as soon as possible. At lower states of charge, the bike may limit power output to prevent damage to the battery. When the battery is fully depleted, the last bar will begin to flash, warning the user to charge the battery as soon as possible.
If a battery is left empty for an extended period, however, it can become damaged and/or non-functional.

If you have any questions or issues with your battery, please discontinue charging, operation of the battery, and operation of the bike, and contact Bluejay Electric Bicycles immediately.
How long does charging the battery take?
The typical time for a full charge is between 4-5 hours. The time the charger takes to fully charge the battery will vary based on various factors including the distance traveled, specific riding characteristics, air temperature, terrain, payload, and battery age.
When the input and output plugs of the charger are connected properly, and the battery is not fully charged, the blue charging indicator light will illuminate, indicating that the battery is still charging.
Do not charge the battery for more than 12 hours at a time, or leave a charging battery unattended.
NOTICE: The battery may take longer to charge when fully depleted, when very new, and after 3-5 years of regular use. If your battery does not seem to be charging normally, taking longer to charge than expected, or you are experiencing a substantial reduction in range, please discontinue use and contact us immediately.
Battery safety information
Do not leave a charging battery unattended. Never charge a battery for more than 12 hours at a time.
Failure to follow battery charging best practices could result in unnecessary wear to the charging components, battery, and or charger, and could lead to an under-performing or non-functional battery and replacement will not be covered under warranty.
