Performing regular inspection and maintenance on your Bluejay electric bicycle reduces wear and tear and ensures that it functions safely and as intended.
Please note, recommended service intervals are provided as guidelines. Real world wear and tear and the need for service varies with conditions of use.
If you are unfamiliar with regular maintenance, please consult a qualified electric bicycle mechanic.
We recommend completing inspections, service, and necessary replacements as early as possible in the ranges provided below:

Check brake pad alignment, brake cable tension. Check that bike is shifting properly. Verify proper derailleur cable tension. Check chain stretch. Check brake and shifter cables for corrosion or fraying. Check for accurate spoke tension. Check for secure accessory mounting (rack mounting bolts, fender hardware, and alignment). |
Clean and lubricate drivetrain. Check crankset and pedal torque. Clean and optionally lubricate brake and shift cables. True and tension wheels if any loose spokes are discovered. |
