Using the Wheel Lock

You can equip your Premiere Edition Bluejay with a built-in wheel lock that prevents it from being ridden by stopping the rear wheel from spinning. The lock has to be located directly underneath the back half of the seat in the 1:00 position of the rear wheel and is silver in color:

To use the wheel lock, insert the appropriate key into the keyhole, turn it, and grasp the black lever that extends the shackle into the locking mechanism. Listen for the shackle to click into place. To unlock the shackle, insert the key, turn it, and the shackle will retract into its ready position. Store one of your wheel lock keys in a secure location, as they cannot be replaced if lost.

We recommend that our riders take appropriate precautions to keep their bikes safe from theft. In addition to using the wheel lock, riders should lock the bike securely to an immobile object, such as a bike rack, using a U-lock or cable lock.

Always be vigilant about where you leave your bike unattended, especially in public places. Write down your bicycle's serial number and store it in a safe place in case you need to report it as lost.
